SuperToast–The IM Notification you’ve been Screaming for

We see loads of requests on the Microsoft TechNet forums from time to time asking whether Lync can be configured to automatically bring the conversation window forward when a new IM comes through. This is because the flashing icon in the Windows taskbar can be easy to miss if someone has IM’d you and you didn’t happen to be at your PC.

Well, the development team at Modality Systems, headed by Paul Nearney, thought about how we could solve this problem, and have developed SuperToast

SuperToast will bring your new IMs up in a notification window on your desktop, so it’s totally obvious you’ve just been IM’d. No more missing critical messages because they’re sitting in your taskbar going unanswered.

What’s more, SuperToast is a cinch to install, and runs in the system tray. Click here to to view SuperToast in action.

Here’s what just a few of you have been saying…

"I just installed it on my workstation to check it out and it’s exactly what I needed. Definitely will be following the live launch in December and look forward to seeing future versions!"

"Overall, an easy to deploy, easy to use solution to a nagging irritation.  Now my boss and my boss’s boss are no longer complaining about the fact that they miss instant messages – so my life is happy."

"That is a really cool app.  It’s amazing that Microsoft didn’t think to do this."

  3. Just found this, it’s great! Any chance of getting the source code for this? Maybe release it under the GPL?
